AVIO Aero Use Case: Supporting Precision in Assembly and Inspection
The AVIO Aero use case within the HERCULES project focuses on the assembly and inspection of standard parts on Low Pressure Turbine (LPT) cases. Currently, operators manually assemble components such as pins, brackets, and bolts, using a variety of specialized tools. They are also responsible for visually inspecting the part to confirm correct placement and fastening of each component. Due to the size of the turbine case and the number of assembly points, operators frequently need to reposition the part to reach a suitable working posture—both during assembly and inspection.
HERCULES Vision
HERCULES proposes a collaborative solution that assists with part handling and positioning, enabling operators to perform tasks in a more ergonomic and stable setup. By reducing the need for manual repositioning of large components, the system allows operators to focus on accurate assembly and inspection without compromising their posture or efficiency.
This approach aims to improve working conditions and support process consistency in a task where precision, repeatability, and operator well-being are essential.
TOFAŞ Use Case: Enhancing Assembly Operations
The TOFAŞ use case within the HERCULES project focuses on improving the front traverse assembly line in the Suspension Production Unit. This process involves manual handling and assembly of large and heavy components such as the steering traverse, torsion rod, and swinging arms. Due to the dimensions and weight of the parts, certain steps require two operators and significant physical effort, even when assisted by lifting equipment. These conditions impact both ergonomics and workflow efficiency.

The HERCULES solution introduces a high-payload collaborative system to support operators during key phases of the process—particularly in the handling, positioning, and transfer of components.
By integrating this collaborative approach, the project aims to reduce operator workload and streamline operations, contributing to a safer and more productive working environment.
